INTRODUCTORY SAKE PROFESSIONAL
This course is the first step to joining the Sake Sommelier world. Designed by the Sake Sommelier Association to provide an entry into sake education without the commitment of a longer course, the Introductory Sake Professional provides a unique opportunity for everyone to expand their sake knowledge. Whether you are a professional working in the hospitality industry, or simply a sake enthusiast, this course is for you.
The course covers the following points:
-Introduction to sake production and the role of each ingredients
-History and Culture of sake
-The different sake designations
-The fundamentals of serving and tasting sake like a professional
After completion of a short test at the end of the session, you will be rewarded with a SSA certificate and an enamel pin.

CERTIFIED SAKE SOMMELIER
SSA's flagship course is a fantastic way to expand your sake knowledge and sommelier skills. Accessible to both trained professionals and sake lovers alike, the course provides a broad approach of the sake world, diving deeper in the topics already seen in the Introductory course, exploring the world of umami and food pairing, and offering a wider selection of sake profiles to taste and study.
The course covers the following points across 2 days:
-An extended dive into sake History and culture
-In-depth sake production
-Sake tasting and the science of umami and food pairing
-Serving vessels and temperatures
-Serving etiquette and an exploration of sake's versatility
-How to work with sake, and deciphering sake labels
This two-day course ends with a 45min exam that includes a written part and a blind taste. Those who pass the exam will receive later a SSA Sake Sommelier certificate and enamel pin to proudly display.
Duration: 2 days, 8.30-17.00 (pre-study necessary before the course)

The fee includes lunch on the two days as well as the tasting of 16 sake, but does NOT include dinner, accommodation or transport.
